My full time job is creating a web site that helps college bound kids (or adults) learn about financial aid, college planning, finding a career, and managing money. There are lots of great resources for counselors too. A new design was just launched that I’m proud of, so I’m sharing it here. Check it out and please pass it on to anyone you know that can benefit from reading AIE: www.AIE.org (Adventures In Education).
My son carefully selected 31 Minecraft mods which we’ve assembled into an easy loading pack. It’s called the WARP modpack and can easily be loaded via the Technic Launcher. Here’s what you need to make it happen:
I’m really looking forward to seeing this film. It premieres on December 22nd on Xbox Live and will be available on demand after.
Where were you when you first heard about Minecraft? I was reading a gaming site and saw an article about an indie game making $200K in one weekend. I originally laughed at the low-res appearance of the game but decided to give it a try. I bought the alpha version. I was heavily hooked for at least 6 months after that and still play some today. I also got to introduce a lot of others to the experience, some of those people are still playing every chance they get.
Minecraft has become a permanent part of gaming culture.
This is just a post to help others that had the same problem I did. Windows 8 does not include Open GL (which AMD calls Open CL) support on older ATI Radeon cards like the HD 2000, 3000, and 4000 series. So after a bunch of hunting around, I found the drivers that do work, so you can keep on playing games that need it, most notably – Minecraft. The file is considered a “hot-fix” from AMD so it wasn’t obvious on the site. Here’s the link: http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/catalystlegacywin8.aspx.
It’s Thanksgiving today and besides the usual stuff like health and family, I am also thankful to Sharp. They looked at my TV pictures and said it was a problem called delamination where LCD layers separate. They are taking care of me by picking up the TV and replacing it with a newer refurbished unit. That’s great customer service! I have 2 Aquos TV’s in my house and thanks to service like this, I would buy again. Maybe the 90″ model! Well maybe not anytime soon but I can dream. I’m grateful that Sharp stands behind their products.
The WordPress blog of Bob Ugiansky. Also the archive some of my previously stand-alone web content such as Arcade Reboot (a MAME machine), Trashcade (a MAME machine joke), and some artwork. Anything else of interest to me is potential content. I didn't create this site with any personal rules. We'll just see what happens.
