Home of the Week in The Capital

This is pretty cool! My dad and step-mom, Gil and Marilyn Ugiansky, had their house selected by the crab wrapper Annapolis newspaper The Capital as home of the week! Ever since buying that house they have been making modifications to it based on a clear vision of its potential. Those visions are now reality and documented with an article, slideshow, and video. Resolution: To actually post something regularly to this site.

I think I like working with a self made hard coded site better than a blog/cms but it’s time I make the leap. Wordpress has made things so easy. I have no more excuses.

Goal: Once a week posts.

After some research, I dropped the Drupal and installed Wordpress. Main reasons: I understand WP is better for an individual website/blog (which this is) and WP has automated updating. Drupal and it’s modules seemed to need an important update, requiring backing up first, quite frequently. I barely had time to install all the modules I needed just to get a functional site going. I’m not lazy, I’m just pressed for free time and value it highly. So the easier to maintain – the better. We’ll see if I can be more attentive to posting .
